Meet our new robotic friend, bObi, that helped us getting Jude to clean hassle-free! Cleaning the house got a lot more fun around here.
From wiping down the counters to cleaning the windows and even scrubbing the toilets, it’s no secret that I love to clean my house. Yes, you read that right. I LOVE to clean and I have no shame saying it. But you know what hasn’t been so fun? Getting my little dude to pitch in and help keep our home clean. I’ve done all the tricks in the books to get him involved. Taking a cue from Barney and singing the “Clean up” song, it only brings us so far. Well, that was all until we got our friend bObi, the robotic vacuum. Now Jude is helping and loving it!
From the moment bObi Classic arrived and we pulled “her” out of the box, Jude was beyond excited. Having recently discovered Star Wars and being absolutely obsessed with anything space related, our new robotic friend was an instant hit! So your eyes definitely do not deceive you, those are indeed Strom Troopers taking a ride! I’m pretty sure they thought they could take over the Galaxy with the help of bObi but were quickly unsuccessful because hello! Han Solo never loses…Unless we’re talking about the Han Solo in The Force Awakens. That was just a disappointment but I digress. My 5-year-old couldn’t care less about those details, but here’s a detail that he does care about- The sound of the vacuum. That is one other key thing about having bObi that has completely changed our life, and that is how quiet “she” is. This is the first vacuum in years that he has not thrown a screaming fit because of the sound. Whether it be loud or just the tone/pitch, he’s always struggled with them and thankfully now with “her”, he doesn’t. For that reason alone, she’s a keeper!
With a simple push of her touchscreen button or a click of the remote control, bObi knows how to find her way across our floors to clean up all the crumbs, dirt and endless amounts of hair (no pets here, just a shedding mama). The great thing is that we can program her to clean anytime and day of the week. She cleans up after breakfast and at night before bed- She knows the drill! Want to know how much cooler this robot gets? She dusts with her spinning brushes, mops and leaves the floors shining with a microfiber cloth attachment, kills floor bacteria with her UV lights and her built-in HEPA filter to prevent harmful airborne particles from getting into your clean air. When she’s done, she makes her way to the charging station and gets a much-needed break.
Yeah, she is that gangsta! 😎 #ThugLife
I’m sure you’re wondering how much this little Storm Trooper dirt picker upper costs? On bobsweep.com, the bObi Classic Robotic Vacuum Cleaner and Mop in Snow, is at a heaping price of $749.00 USD 😱 BUT you can find her much cheaper for $419.99 CAD at Wayfair.ca
Having owned bObi for about a month now, I’ve definitely seen all of the pros and cons. I’ve talked much about how amazing she is, but here are some of the things that I wasn’t too fond of. Because of her cleaning pattern, she sometimes gets stuck in our bedroom for 30 minutes and also takes a lot longer to clean up a pile of dirt than it would if I just did it with a broom and dustpan, but not having to do it is great! If you’ve left toys or any wires on the ground, it will suck it up- So I’d make sure the house is spotless before turning her on. There is regular maintenance that needs to be done every day that it runs. It ran only 3 times one week, and was that bad girl ever full! There was hair in every single nook and cranny of bObi, but it wasn’t too difficult to clean. And lastly, just like every other robotic vacuum, it doesn’t clean stairs.
So the question is, is it worth $400? That is such a tough one! $400 is a lot to shell out on a robot vacuum cleaner, but it is among the least expensive than other brands and it also gets the job done. She wins major points for being quiet enough for my little guy’s sensitivity to sound and has him giggling while she cleans. We LOVE having her and how much it has brought our cleaning game to a whole other level!
How do you get your kids to help clean up?
